Moovy’s service fee will change in January

In addition to the parking fee determined by the site owner, the users of the parking applications pay the service fee. Moovy’s service fee will change in January. The new service fee is 15% of the price of the parking fee, however at least €0.49. At the same time, the monthly service fee ceiling will be removed.

What will change?

• In addition to the parking fee determined by the site owner or holder, the users of the parking applications pay the service fee.
• Moovy will introduce a new pricing model for the service fee. The new service fee is 15% of the price of the parking fee (at least €0.49) per chargeable parking event. At the same time, the service fee ceiling (€4.90/month) will be removed.
• The change applies to the service fee for short-term parking in the Moovy application. The change does not apply to contract parking fees, to which no service fee will be added in the future.

Why change?

• The service fee has remained the same since the launch of Moovy in 2018. Since then, the costs associated with the provision of the service have increased, for example due to inflation and VAT changes.
• The cost of card debiting depends on the amount charged: the more expensive parking is, the higher is the debit cost of credit card companies and payment intermediation services from Moovy. The new pricing model will better cover the costs of providing the service.
• In addition, the change will make it easier to compare service fees with other parking applications.

When will the change take place?

• The change will take place on 15th of January 2025.

Why does Moovy have a service fee?

• The service fee is used to cover the costs related to the provision of the service (payment transfer, maintenance of the platform, development work, customer service, etc.).
• All similar parking applications have a service fee. Moovy has a competitive pricing.

Will there be a percentage fee in addition to the previous 49 cents?

• No percentage will be added to 49 cents. The service fee is 15% of the price of the parking fee or at least €0.49 € per parking event.

I park at Finavia Helsinki-Vantaa or other airports. What will the service fee be in the future?

• After January 15, 2025, the Moovy service fee will remain unchanged at Finavia airport locations. These locations include: Helsinki-Vantaa Airport P1, P2, and Pikaparkki; Ivalo Airport; Joensuu Airport; Jyväskylä Airport; Kajaani Airport; Kemi-Tornio Airport; Kittilä Airport; Kokkola-Pietarsaari Airport; Kuopio Airport P1 and P2; Kuusamo Airport; Oulu Airport P1 and P2; Pori Airport; Rovaniemi Airport (P1), P2, P3, and Pikaparkki; Tampere-Pirkkala Airport P1, P2, and P3; Turku Airport; Vaasa Airport P1 and P2.
• The Moovy service fee will continue to be €0.49 per paid parking in the aforementioned locations. Additionally, these locations will have a service fee ceiling in Moovy, ensuring that service fees can be a maximum of €4.90/user/payment card per calendar month. The pricing will be automatically applied if you park at the aforementioned Finavia locations.

What if I don’t want to pay this new service fee?

• The majority of parking facilities also have an alternative payment method (payment kiosk and online payment), in which no service fee is charged.
• If you want to prevent parking from starting automatically on your Moovy account at camera-equipped parking facilities, turn off camera recognition on the application’s Vehicles tab.
